I am able to work with adults of all ages experiencing a variety of life difficulties. I am specifically interested in working with adults experiencing loss – often loss of someone who has been deeply influential.
Also I am able to work with those experiencing the often agonising and ongoing loss of a loved one through dementia. Those in the supporting or caring-for role often experience the dilemma of needing to give support and strength to a loved one whilst at the same time needing understanding, care and support themselves. This can give rise to a host of difficult feelings including guilt, anger, resentment and despair alongside sadness and fear for the future. These feelings can go unexpressed leading to additional struggles.
I am able to work with individuals in their own home as long as there is a room that is appropriate for counselling without being interrupted. This can be particularly helpful to those with transport or mobility difficulties and those experiencing social anxiety.
I can see clients within the Bishops Stortford, Thaxted, Braintree and Rodings area – see shaded area on map. If you are unsure whether I am able to visit you please don’t hesitate to contact me to find out. You can telephone or text or email me telling me your postcode, I will then be able to tell you if you are within my catchment area.
I offer an initial assessment session free of charge. This gives you and I the opportunity to explore what might be most appropriate without obligation.
For ongoing counselling, short or longer term, my fee is £45 for a one hour session.
