Counselling is a therapy – often referred to as a talking therapy.
Counselling gives the opportunity for someone to share their deepest feelings and fears with a trained and qualified person in a safe environment.
It can give us the opportunity to explore our difficult feelings in a relationship without judgment or instruction.
As a Person Centered Counsellor I believe in the uniqueness of the individual and the ability of the individual to develop and thrive in their own way. I see my task as listening deeply to my client, to give reflection to my client’s thoughts and feelings whilst at the same time holding my client in the highest regard.
Person Centred Counselling is a humanistic, non-directive model of counselling developed in the early 1900s. It is a model of counselling that promotes a deep relationship between counsellor and client and has at its heart the three principles of honesty, empathy and unconditional positive regard.
I believe in such an environment a person is able to find new meaning to life.
